Compass Health Network has a long history of serving individuals, families, and communities throughout Missouri. Our roots date back to 1974, when Community Counseling Consultants was established to provide behavioral health services to individuals and families.

As the need for accessible behavioral health services grew, Community Counseling Consultants continued to expand and collaborate with other organizations across Missouri.

In 1997, Community Counseling Consultants merged with West Central Missouri Mental Health Center, based in Warrensburg, Missouri. Together, the organizations became Pathways Community Behavioral Healthcare, Inc., creating a stronger network of behavioral health services.

Pathways continued to grow through additional partnerships and mergers:

• 1998: Southwest Missouri Mental Health Center joined Pathways
• 1998: Family Mental Health Center merged with Pathways
• 2004: Royal Oaks Hospital became part of Pathways

These partnerships expanded Pathways’ reach and strengthened its ability to provide behavioral health services to individuals and families throughout Missouri.

In 2012, Family Counseling Center of Missouri, Inc. merged with Pathways, further strengthening behavioral health services and expanding access to care for the communities they served.

Pathways later merged with Crider Health Center, bringing together organizations with a shared commitment to providing accessible, comprehensive care.

In 2019, Pathways and Crider unified under the Compass Health Network name.

The name Compass Health Network reflects our commitment to helping people navigate their health and wellness journey while providing care close to home.

In 2020, Family Health Center joined Compass Health Network, expanding the organization’s ability to provide integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and substance use services. This growth strengthened Compass’s commitment to treating the whole person and making it easier for individuals and families to access the care they need.

In 2023, Compass Health Network merged with Comtrea, a Festus-based nonprofit organization with a long history of serving individuals and families in Jefferson County. The merger added nine locations to the Compass network and expanded access to comprehensive health care services throughout the region.

Today, Compass Health Network continues to build on the legacy of the organizations that came before it. Through an integrated approach to care, Compass provides medical, dental, behavioral health, substance use, and other services to communities throughout Missouri.
